Building Connections that Strengthen Futures

Camps and camping opportunities continue to be one of Armed Services YMCA’s most popular programs.  It’s more than just fun in the sun—it’s an opportunity for children to build friendships, grow in confidence, and develop a deep appreciation for Hawai‘i’s rich culture. Through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration, campers gain a deeper connection to their surroundings and an appreciation for the world around them.

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Summer Enrichment Camps provides opportunities for military children to make meaningful connections. For military children, who may face moving to a new city, state, and school every two to three years, these friendships, support networks, and memories last a lifetime. Our curriculum provides opportunities for the children to build familiarity and find a sense of place by learning more about Hawaiʻi and its rich culture.

Summer Camp focuses on:

  • Building confidence and enhancing self-image
  • Improving social skills that reflect age-appropriate behavior
  • Teaching conflict resolution and the healthy management and expression of anger
  • Increasing bonds with family and friends
  • Equipping military children and families with tools and resources to cope with the challenges of military life
We are excited to present a camp full of hands-on experiences!
Every camper will have a sense of belonging with our overall goals:
  • To provide a fun, enriching learning experience that promotes creativity, productivity, and increase problem solving skills.
  • To give every student the opportunity to challenge her/himself to grow in confidence and teamwork and have a sense of achievement.

We know that friends, camp counselors, and new experiences are essential for an impactful camp experience, and our camp counselors and directors are working hard to ensure all campers have the opportunity to achieve those goals.
