About Us

Who We Are

Armed Services YMCA Hawaii provides innovative and quality social, educational, and recreational programs to meet the needs of military service members and their families in the state of Hawaii. We are committed to strengthening military families, supporting healthy lifestyles, reducing isolation, and assisting service members and their families connect to their community.

In 2022, Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) Hawaii served approximately 90,000 service men, women, and their families on Oahu. With branch locations at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and U.S. Army Schofield Barracks/Wheeler Army Airfield, ASYMCA provides a network of programs, services, and opportunities to empower people and communities to learn, grow, and thrive.

During deployment, while transitioning between bases, and in times of conflict and peace, ASYMCA continues “Strengthening Our Military Family®” through its 12 branches and 24 affiliate partners, serving 87 military installations and facilities nationwide.

Physical and mental health are critical for military families, which is why we offer a variety of programs for the whole self and the whole family.

Health and wellness services include:

  • Children’s Waiting Room – Drop-in Child Care at Tripler Army Medical Center
  • Parent’s Night Out – Child care to provide parents with downtime or date nights
  • Community events to connect military families with each other and with resources
  • And more!

Children are the heart of our organization because they are the ones who often sacrifice the most. We are honored to provide programs that educate, engage, and entertain children of all ages.

Youth development programs include:

  • Early Childhood Education Programs
  • Summer and Intersession (Spring and Fall Break) Camps
  • Playgroups and structured activities

Mission readiness is as much of a mindset as it is a tactical operation. It’s critical that service members know the home front is safe and sound when they deploy for duty.

Social Responsibility initiatives include:

  • Food Security for Military Families
  • Holiday Travel Assistance for Military Families
  • Resiliency Programs for Military Children and Families
  • And more!
