Child Care for Medical Appointments

Children’s Waiting Room enables service members, veterans, and their families to make health and well-being a priority. This unique program provides child care services at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), enabling parents to keep scheduled appointments without the stress of finding child care outside of the hospital. This service is available to those attending an appointment on the TAMC campus.

Accessing this Program

  • Available to active duty and retired service members and their dependents with ID.
  • Provides up to two hours of supervision for children during medical appointments.
  • Care is provided for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
  • Reservations are highly recommended for morning hours, and required for afternoon hours. We recommend reservations be made as far in advance as possible.
  • Closed on hospital training days, weekends, and federal holidays.

Operating Hours:
Monday to Friday
Morning Hours: 7:30am-11:45am, walk-ins welcome when available
Afternoon Hours: 12:30pm-2:45pm, by appointment only

Cost for Up to 2 Hours of Care:

  • $5 per child

Your child(ren) must be registered for the Children’s Waiting Room prior to scheduling your first reservation.

A copy of your child’s immunization records are also required, along with proof of flu shot and TB test/clearance within the last 12 months. Required documents must be turned in at or before your first appointment with us.
