Hawaii
The ASYMCA Hawaiʻi hosts events throughout the year designed to promote recognition, appreciation, resiliency, and child development within our military community.
More important information, including all 2026 `Ohana Open Market dates, HERE.
The food we distribute is made possible through a partnership with the Hawaii Foodbank. Three times a month, we receive pallets of food from the Hawaii Foodbank to distribute at `Ohana Open Markets. This food can be fresh or dried produce. We do our best to sort and salvage items before distribution however, the Armed Services YMCA does not have control over the type or condition of food that is being delivered and distributed. Please carefully look over the items you receive before using them in your home.
Armed Services YMCA, in partnership with Jack Daniel's and American Airlines, helps junior enlisted military families (E1-E5) travel home for the holidays by offering cost-covered (free) or funding toward round-trip flights for military members and their immediate family. Armed Services YMCA, Jack Daniel's, and American Airlines are committed to making this travel possible for those most in need.

Living aloha is a journey rooted in compassion, understanding, and a deeper connection to the world around us.
Join us for a guided White Tern Walk by the Hawaiʻi Audubon Society through the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa campus and explore one of Honolulu’s most unique wildlife stories. The Manu o Kū (White Tern), Honolulu’s official bird, is the only seabird known to nest in a major urban area—without building a nest!
These elegant birds have deep cultural and historical roots in Hawai‘i, long regarded as navigational guides and symbols of peace and connection to the ocean. On this walk, you’ll:
This is a fun, educational, and family-friendly way to experience nature, culture, and community in the heart of the city.
Let’s walk with aloha and wonder—together.
